Reserve a Spot for Frozen Raspberries this Grilling Season!

Posted

There’s no time of year more appropriate than barbecue season to show the beautiful balance raspberry brings to the savory side of the dinner menu. Add a layer of raspberry flavor to your barbecued meats and seafood with a homemade raspberry glaze or salsa. Raspberry sauces add a beautiful rosy color and bright acidity to balance the flavor of grilled meats.

You can even turn on the grill specifically for frozen red raspberries! In a small bowl, combine one bag of frozen raspberries, the juice and zest of one lemon, and a sprinkling of sugar. Put the berry mixture in aluminum foil and seal up the sides. Place on the grill over medium heat for about 10 minutes. The result is a sweet, nutrient-rich syrupy topping, perfect for dousing on ice cream, frozen yogurt, or a slice of cake!
