Barbequed Perfection for Father’s Day

Whether it’s making Grandma’s “famous” pie in her kitchen, slurping on Popsicles in the backyard with your best friend, or in the case of our farmers – running through the raspberry fields with Dad – it’s not uncommon to have fond memories with loved ones centered around food.

Many of our multi-generational raspberry farmers grew up running through the berry fields and now, they have children of their own who do the same thing.

There’s a lot of tradition, heritage, and heart wrapped up in the raspberry industry. And we can’t think of a better way to show the fathers and father figures out there our appreciation than with a recipe that features a gem of a berry. It’s as unique and special as they are.

This raspberry centric brine is any grill master’s dream. While originally used as a food preservation method, brine infuses meat with finger-licking flavor by adding salt and sugar and thus, boosting the amount of liquid (or moisture) in the meat. Use this brine on pork, chicken, or even a rack of ribs (editor note: this would be amazing for your Thanksgiving turkey, too)! It’s bright flavor profile works well with just about any kind of meat. The best part is that this recipe is so easy to prepare. Once prepped, you can pass the seasoned meat onto the ultimate grill master and spend quality time chatting by the BBQ. You’re bound to create new memories.

Happy Father’s Day!
